Stupid children! Irritable louthsome bakas!! Natsumi cursed the kids around her silently in her head. She was surprised they couldn't hear her thoughts though considering how loud she was screaming them. Why couldn't they get out of her way? Why did they have to mill around her when she was trying to get somewhere? Having dropped her brother of she had one more sibling to deposit before school. Eventually her and her youngest sister reached the front gates and the outside pavement.
"Come on Aimi..." Natsumi encouraged as the scrambled through the crowd of parents and kids heading for the concrete courtyard of Hikaru's middle school. "We're gonna have to run- come on!" She picked up the pace.
Aimi's run, however, was of course a lot slower than Natsumi. About to cry with frustration Natsumi turned around, scooped her younger sister up into her arms and legged it. She ran down the street at the best speed she could muster with such a heavy bundle. Her bag was swinging against her hip and bouncing painfully. She could feel her bottle of water and lunch box bashing her hip bone. Eyes watering a little Natsumi was completely out of breath by the time they had run down the streets and reached Aimi's first school. Panting heavily she noted the time of the huge clock suspended above the school entrance. Good, Aimi was just in time. But that meant she was late!
Kissing Aimi on the forehead she attempted to get words out throug hher laboured breathing.
"Be good. Onii-chan will be here to pick you up after school. Eat all your lunch and work hard okay?"
Aimi smiled brightly and nodded. Natsumi waved and ran back out of the gate. She turned at the last moment to see Aimi waving back and heard. "Bye-bye Onee-chan." Natsumi waved a final time and sprinted down the road. As soon as she was clear of small children and their parent she untied her rollar-blades from around her bag strap and shoved her shoes into her bag. Seconds later she was whizzing down the concrete pavements, her wheels scraping the sidewalk as she turned a sharp corner and headed for her school. She was going at a tremendous speed but she knew she would be able to stop if she needed to... She hoped.
Screeching her wheels around a second corner she nearly knocked over someone coming out of the grocery store. Ducking under the box they were carrying they wobbled a little but as she looked over her shoulder they righted themselves.
"Gomen nasai!" She called as she crossed a road, avoided a cyclist and came onto Nagai's road. There were still people going inside so she had made it in record time. Skipping in through the gates she was still going at an amazing pace.
"Kyaah!" She called for people to get out of her way as she realised she wouldn't be stopping anytime soon. Reaching out she grabbed a hold of a post by the main door and spun around it. And around and around, until she slowed down enough to be able to plonk her behind down on the ground her bladed feet sticking out each side of the pole. Several people laughed and Natsumi just sat there, blowing upwards to get hair out of her eyes. She was just thankful she'd got there on time and been able to stop. Attempting to get up Natsumi discovered that her suddenly relaxed legs had turned to jelly after so much sudden exercise and she was unable to get to her feet. Just great... After slipping on her wheels twice Natsumi gave up and leant back a little, watching people pass her by. She would get up in a second...

"Aki-nee-san? Are you leaving already?"
The soft voice drifted across the room quietly, as if floating in the air before gradually dissipating. Her brother had always had a very soothing, gentle voice, as did she -- it was likely something that ran in the family, considering how their mother had the same trait. Kina turned around from where she stood at the front door, having been in the process of slipping on her socks, to look at her little brother, Akuji, who was rubbing his eye tiredly. If not for the mature way he spoke, he would have seemed like a very young child -- but then again, he was technically still very young. Tilting her head slightly, Kina smiled, finishing up with the process of slipping on a pair of clean socks, before padding over to her little brother and mussing up the soft, ebony strands of his hair. He was too disoriented to react.
"Mm-hm," she murmured simply, bending to press an almost motherly kiss against the child's forehead. "I've made breakfast already. Make sure you eat it before it gets cold, mm'kay? Kaa-san's still sleeping, since she has a day off today. If she wakes up late, tell her to reheat the food. I'm going, then, otouto." She traced her steps back to the entrance, smoothing out the folds of her white sweatshirt and skirt, before picking up her bag. "Ittekimasu," the petite girl said simply, waving once to her brother, who waved back dazedly, before opening the door and stepping outside. Her brother, being in elementary school, went to school later, which explained why she couldn't walk to school with him. Initially, that point had sent her into a fit, since the boy was still young, but he had insisted against her 'mother-henning' him and gone out of his way to prove that he didn't need a sibling escort. Now, he was perfectly capable of heading off on his own, giving the conflict between their schedules and the point that their mother was rarely available these days because of her own busy workload. This day was an exception for her, as she had decided to use a saved-up vacation day to take a much-needed day off. Stifling a soft yawn with her slender hand, Akina began to leisurely make her way in the direction of school. Her house was fairly far, so it required at least thirty minutes if she didn't take the train. Being one for the scenic route, Akina normally opted to walk all the way, which explained why she normally left early for school, and given her slow pace (which applied only in the mornings, which was when she wanted to think and get some fresh air), she usually made it to school class moments before she could be considered tardy. Absently, she hummed a random tune under her breath as she walked quietly, remaining otherwise silent. Mundane thoughts revolving around schoolwork and classes hovered around in her mind as she strode at a leisurely pace to appreciate the morning air and relax before the exact start of a school day. It was fairly peaceful this morning, given the point that it was still fairly early and not during the busy time when people were normally rushing to work or school. Being weird, she normally did take the most deserted, but peaceful route available -- a liking for quietude usually demanded that she do so. After all, who didn't like a little peace and quiet in the morning, before having to deal with long bouts of lack thereof throughout the day? ...Well, if there were people like that, Akina wasn't very well-acquainted with them, perhaps. The third year didn't realize just how much time had passed until she finally reached the school gates after quite some time, peering around to see how many other students were loitering at the entrance. A bunch? Good. That meant she wasn't exactly late yet, which was a good thing. The female was quite tempted to drag her feet, but refrained from doing so, even though she inwardly huffed all the way 'til she entered the grounds. Laughter, however, seized her attention, and she whipped around to acknowledge the source, as well as see just what was so amusing this morning-- ...A girl. Spinning. Around a pole. ...Not very amusing, if she had to comment on the scene. Alright, so maybe the sight was a little amusing, but it wasn't laugh-worthy. Besides, no one liked getting laughed at to their face. Usually. Although...it was kind of cool, in a way. Spinning around like that had to have some entertainment value. Maybe she could try it out herself someday, just for the heck of it. Heaven knew she was only too bored sometimes -- to the point of doing just about anything, regardless of how weird, to amuse herself. Akina watched as the girl in question sat herself down before attempting to get up, and proceeded to remain on the ground, possibly exhausted from what had transpired. Being that it was common courtesy to help someone up, she made her way over to the girl, offering a hand. Her expression was neutral, for she normally didn't interact with people at school very often anymore, but there was no hint of hostility or negativity in the look. It wasn't polite to be rude to someone who had never wronged her in the first place, anyway. "Need a hand?" she asked quietly, keeping her hand outstretched for the girl to take. Akina peered at the female, noting that the face wasn't very familiar. Perhaps an underclassman? She was normally observant enough to know most individuals in her grade, but her memory wasn't quite as good when it came to those her weren't in her year.

Natsumi was mumbling swear words under her breath when she suddenly noted a pretty, slim hand extended towards her. She looked up, her legs spread either side of the pole and her hands behind her on the ground to see a girl with long hair looking down at her. The other girl's hair, unlike Natsumi's short do hung with effortless curls as she leant over a little to extend her hand. Natsumi's bright smile lit up her face.
Reaching up she took a hold of her saviours hand and then looked at her feet. Pushing the bottom of her blades into the pole, so that the metal was jammed between her wheels she then used the stoppd of the other and the hand she held onto the force herself up and to her feet.
"Arigatou!" Natsumi thanked brightly dusting her hands off on her jeans from where she had had them on the ground. She felt a little bad that she had probably transfered some of that dust to her helper's palm also. She looked up and looked the girl over for the first time and smiled confidently. Her smile then froze a little and she tilted her a head a little in thought. She was attempted to place this new face with the knowledge she had of the student body.
Natsumi was very confident and social and knew just about everyone in the school. Most of them new her and if they were used to more shy awkward company Natsumi at least new their name. Her grin brightened across her face once more as a name clicked into place. She took a step back, now steady on her feet and made a slight bow in formal introduction.
"Suzuki-senpai, hai?" She checked, pretty sure that she had the right student and that the girl was a year older than her, in her third year. Not really expecting the girl to know who she was she introduced herself. "I'm Watashi Natsumi Class 2-B." Her smile now became warm and friendly. "Thank-you for your help. I was a little late, rushed and lost control." She laughed. "Such fun in the mornings huh?"
Natsumi wasn't entirely sure what kind of cliche or labelling Suzuki-senpai was a part of. She didn't even know the girl's first name. What she did know, however, was it was likely for her to be more well known to her helper than for the opposite to be true. Not that Natsumi was big-headed or overly popular. She was just a bit loud and very confident. People generally tended to know who she was. Especially as Shin was in the same school. Half the school knew her and the other half knew her as Shin's twin sister.
Natsumi was also very into sports and played in most school competitions. She was always the one picked to be her classes saviour as she was a pretty good all-round athelete (though she preferred swimming). Of course only stupid people would ask her to tutor them, because so much exercise and family commitments meant that her studying tended to suffer. Oh well- Natsumi was intending to get a sports scholarship to a college if she ended up attending one at all, so what did her grades matter?
Natsumi watched the girl carefully attempting to encourage to her respond with a welcome smile and expression. Natsumi knew that her forthright and sometimes over-bearing personality could creep people out or put them off her but she was just very social, friendly, and occassionally had no shame. She just hoped that this type of persona wasn't scaring the girl who had helped her up, as Suzuki-senpai seemed nice enough and it would be great to make a new friend...
