now that it's raning more than ever know that we still have each other you can stand under my u m b r e l l a >>mei's outfit today -here- and -here-<< -------------- Half an hour ago, skies had been clear and Cai Mei had been out on the playing field thrashing an opposing team at girl’s football. Being a golden child on the school’s sports teams, she took her position very seriously as teacher’s pet and had been determined to clear away all the equipment, thus leaving her – as per usual – the last team member to vacate the pitch. She was the last to shower, the last to change and the last to leave the changing rooms by a long shot. She certainly hadn’t expected that, having showered in the girls room, she would be showered again outside as she began to walk across the grounds and the heavens spontaneously opened.
Shrieking with shock, she paused, whipped the hood of her (thankfully waterproof) jacket and froze, wondering whether to make a dash home or head back into the building through the nearest door. Deciding on the latter as she glimpsed the broken zip on her battered schoolbag she’d had since she was about 12 years old, the petite student made a sharp beeline for the closest entrance to the building at the east wing, clambering up the stairs and leaving wet, muddy footprints all the way down the corridor to her homeroom on the first floor.
Dumping her bag on a desk near the window, she wiped her face with her hands to dispel the raindrops that crept down her now flushed cheeks, shivering slightly at the chill of the water that had soaked into the front of her clothes. Even in those brief moments before she’d put her hood up, there had been enough rain to plaster her hair to her head and the sides of her face, and raindrops soaked into the legs of her pink jeans gave them a speckled look. Sighing to herself, Mei rubbed her eyes furiously, pushing her fringe out of them in an almost agitated manner, before pressing her hands against the window and gaping at the falling rain outside, warm breath fogging up the glass.
“There’s no way I’m making it home in that…” She huffed, drawing a star in the misty cloud she’d formed on the pane of glass. “I knew I should have bought an umbrella,” she fumed, rubbing out the shape and puffing another blast of hot air. “If only they weren’t so expensive.” --------------

"Too slow, Kazuki!"
The gym was being shared currently by two people only. The rest of the basketball team had already headed home. These two people were Ryong, and Kazuki, which didn't really come as a surprise to most people. They frequently stayed later then expected practice times either to get a little more work in, or play a few one on one games against each other. Ryong was probably the more competitive one, which was apparent recently ever since Kazuki had been selected over him as team captain. It wasn't a grudge, more like a thought in the back of his head which wouldn't go away.
Ryong rushed past Kazuki, starting off his movements with a few crossovers. Then, having broken away from his defense, Ryong leaped into the air towards the basket. Time would seem to slow for him in that instant, as he rose higher and higher as he got closer to the basket. Then, once right in front of it, he slammed the ball down through the hoop. They would continue playing for an hour or so, both exchanging points. It was already obvious they were near the same skill level, which made them push just a little harder.
Now that he was finished, Ryong grabbed his bag and headed into the locker rooms. A fifteen minute shower would follow, and he would be fully dressed in roughly ten minutes. Today he had worn a black suit, but by looking outside it probably wasn't the best decision. Fortunately, he was parked pretty close to the front gate of the school. If Kazuki hadn't already arrived, he would wait for him before they would head out together.
"I'll give you a ride home today, Kazuki."
In his car, Ryong moved the papers and b-, oh wait. The only thing that was on the passengers seat was a paper listing his homework for today. Damn. Without his textbooks, it would be near impossible to finish his homework unless he had actually been paying attention in class today. "I have to head back to the classroom, I forgot my books." With that, Ryong got out of the car. It wouldn't matter if Kazuki tagged along. By looking up to where his classroom window was, the light was on. Odd. Usually everyone must have gone home by now? Well, it didn't matter as he began heading back into the school.

-----------------------``kazuki's look today: H E R E----------------------- "Too slow, Kazuki!" Ryong's words resounded loudly in the large room, bounding off from the walls and back to the ears of the players. Kazuki's concentrated face split with a grin. The scene was always the same on the basketball court when he and Ryong were practicing. Even though it was just a practice, the two treated it more like a battle to the death. Even if Kazuki had already been chosen as captain of the team for the year, that didn't mean that either were going to change how they treated each other on the court. And that suited Kazuki fine, because it gave him something to work for. Although he was still surprised to have been chosen as captain for the year instead of Ryong, he was eager to prove to their coach that he had been the right choice after all.
Soon after Ryong's words, Kazuki was left in the other player's wake as he sailed into the air and scored a point. Kazuki cursed a little under his breath, but went to retrieve the ball, and they continued playing. The two of them were so close in skill levels that the points were equal at the end of the session. Dripping with sweat, Kazuki waved a hand at Ryong as he went towards the shower. Kazuki went to put the balls away, then followed his friend to the showers. As the cool water poured down on him, Kazuki took a deep breath as he thought over their practice. The earlier practice with the whole team had gone well, with all of the players having turned up and done their best. Kazuki was sure that some of them could become really good players with a little more training. He had already started discussing with their coach going on a training weekend in the countryside in a few weeks time.
As soon as he was out of the shower, Kazuki took a quick peek out of the window in the locker room and sighed. Lovely weather today, he thought with a streak of sarcasm. Walking to his locker, Kazuki grabbed his bag and took out a pair of baggy green cargo trousers and a black sleeveless t-shirt. Quickly dressing, he dug in the bottom of the bag before finally finding the dark orange waterproof jacket he always left in there for emergencies. Or rather, for unexpectedly rainy days.
"I'll give you a ride home today, Kazuki."
"Thanks. I don't really fancy cycling home in this rain." Kazuki followed Ryong to his car, zipping up his jacket just as he got outside and the rain started to his his head. "It doesn't look as if this is going to shift all that soon either." He added as he pulled the hood over his head, eyes scanning the horizon. "I have to head back to the classroom, I forgot my books."Kazuki rolled his eyes. Well done, could you not have remembered that before we got outside? Kazuki thought, but didn't say the words out loud. It was very tempting to just sit in Ryong's car and wait for him to come back with his forgotten books, but Kazuki thought he may as well tag along. After all, at least he would be doing something. Kazuki had always thought that sitting in a car was boring when you were on your own. So, Kazuki ran after Ryong through the rain and went up to the first floor where third year classes were held. Ryong's class was next door to Kazuki's, and everyone knew which ones were which, so it wasn't difficult to find. Kazuki couldn't remember ever having gone into the B class homeroom, so this would be a first for him. However, as he neared the doorway, Kazuki noticed that the light was still on. Someone must have forgotten to turn it off, he guessed, and stepped through the entrance. "Oh, hi." He said slowly, seeing the girl by the window. You didn't fancy going home in that weather, huh?"

now that it's raning more than ever know that we still have each other you can stand under my u m b r e l l a >>mei's outfit today -here- and -here-<< -------------- It looked as though the rain was determined to stop Mei from getting home. Grumbling to herself slightly, the young girl shrugged off her colourful raincoat – still dripping water – and draped it over her sports bag after removing a spare sweater from it. Stepping back to the window, she watched two figures enter the building as she began to ‘towel’ dry her hair with her school tracksuit sweater. Frowning slightly, she was sure she recognised the first and she turned to the doorway just in time to see her classmate enter. Raising one hand to give Ryong a slight wave, she offered a bright smile despite the gloomy weather, before sweeping her hair to one side to dry the ends.
“You alright?” Her question was rendered a fair deal less serious by the grin on her face, induced by the fact she was now reassured that she wasn’t alone in the building. “Thank goodness someone else is here, I was beginning to think I’d be trapped here on my own and become the beginning of a bad horror movie--”
She would probably have kept rambling if she hadn’t heard another voice ask a question which she assumed was aimed at her. Sweater in one hand, Cai Mei glanced towards the doorway with a hand raised to wave, ready to greet whoever had entered, but froze mid-wave as she caught sight of Fuwa Kazuki. She quickly zipped around so that he couldn’t see her face, her lips pursed and her eyebrows furrowed with mild panic. She knew perfectly well who he was, he was captain of the basketball team, but they had only met face to face one time, and she wasn’t keen on him knowing that it was her he’d seen try out for the basketball team this time last year.
Clearing her throat slightly, she clutched her team sweater to her chest and turned back to send a bright smile at Kazuki, having fluffed her fringe to slightly shadow her eyes and pulled her hair slightly around her face in a dreadful attempt to make herself look as little like her ‘male’ self as possible. “Hiiiii,” her drawn out greeting comically accompanied her wide grin as she slowly set her jumper down next to her raincoat and clasped her hands behind her back. She glanced briefly over her shoulder at the rain outside and, slightly calmer now, scrunched her nose at the weather in response to his question.
“I clearly tried and failed,” she laughed lightly, indicating her wet clothes and hair (which now resembled a dishevelled bird’s nest). “I’ll probably try and brave it when it’s not raining heavily enough to kill brain cells,” she glanced back at the dreary view from the window, but her wet coat on the nearby desk caught her eye and she quickly moved her belongings off the wooden desk and dumped them on the floor, praying that it wasn’t Ryong’s desk and that she hadn’t initiated some form of mildew. She glanced to her classmate, rubbing the corner of her eye slightly. “Are you looking for something?” --------------
